Needed: Small bathroom sink

Category: Bathroom | August 12, 2005

I'm looking for an affordable bathroom sink that is compact (read: small). Our bathroom isn't as big as we would hope it would be, so space is an issue. I'm looking for something that is preferbly less deep than it is wide but that is usable without getting frustrated.

Also looking for where I could get a decent sized toliet (read: small but powerful).

I've got a really small sink: 15" wide, 12" long, and only 5" deep. But since the bathroom is only 3' x 6' I think I need to keep it. Really though, it's not very useful except for washing hands. Every time I shave or brush my teeth it makes a big mess. Sometimes it feels like being in an airplane loo. Smaller is not always better.

You could possibly try sinkexpo.com. I have no connection with them but saw something under their sets and bases, corner sets that looks compact. May be a little pricey.

We have a very small bathroom and got the smallest possible toilet by Toto and a very small pedestal sink. The brand escapes me- if I can summon the memory or the manual I'll post it here later... It wasn't cheap though and it was hard to find.

I saw someone the other day use a bar sink for their bathroom sink. It was on a long cabinet so it looked good. You could install it sideways if you need it to be skinnier.

It was on HGTV.com and with the frequency that they rerun things it is bound to come around again soon.

That is really cool. I would check out http://www.re-store.org/ You never know what you will find there. I would also put the word out on Craigs list. Also, when I needed a smaller sink I went to a ceramic shop. They have sinks and shapes that can be used as sinks. You can glaze it and they will fire it for you. Also, once I used a really cool bonzi container for a sink. Sometimes you have to be creative and look in other areas when you need something special.
